The Kanto Area Council of the Junior Chamber International Japan (Chairman: Kenyu Oyanagi) will hold the "Regional Innovation Co-creation Strategy 2026" in Uenohara City, Yamanashi Prefecture, on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026.

This project aims to realize a sustainable local society by creating a cycle of people, relationships, and activities within the region, not by treating the regional issues of multicultural coexistence, disaster prevention, and regional economic creation individually, but by linking them interactively.

■ Background

Currently, the Kanto region is facing a decline in the working-age population and a shortage of local leaders, making the sustainability of local communities a major issue.

In addition, there are complex issues such as an increase in foreign residents, regional differences in disaster prevention awareness, and economic stagnation. There is a growing need to address these issues not independently but in a cross-cutting manner.

This project will take an integrated view of these issues and create opportunities to build relationships, thereby unlocking new potential for the region.

■ Project Features

① Cross-Sectoral Structural Design
Designed to integrate multicultural coexistence, disaster prevention, and the regional economy, implemented not as a one-off event but as a "connecting mechanism."

② Experience Design that Generates Action
In addition to seminars, the structure aims to move from understanding to action through hands-on, dialogue-based, and participatory content.

③ Replicable Regional Model
The knowledge gained through this project will be structured as a model that can be deployed in various regions.
