Nagasaki Stadium City Launches New Payment Concept: 'Smart Payment'
Nagasaki Stadium City will introduce cash payment options starting April 2026 to enhance customer convenience.
Regional Creation Nagasaki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture; President: Hideki Iwashita) is launching a new payment operation at Nagasaki Stadium City as it enters its second year of operation.
Since its opening in October 2024, the facility has operated under a "fully cashless" concept. Over the past year, in response to feedback from customers and business partners, we are launching a new payment concept called "Smart Payment" to make the facility even more comfortable and accessible for everyone.
In addition to existing cashless payment methods, cash payments will be accepted starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
■ Background: Responding to Customer Feedback to Create a More Convenient and Enjoyable Space
Since its opening, Nagasaki Stadium City has welcomed over 4.85 million visitors in its first year. In surveys, many visitors, particularly children and seniors, expressed a desire to be able to shop using cash. We have taken this feedback to heart and decided to introduce "Smart Payment" to ensure all guests can enjoy their time at Nagasaki Stadium City without stress.
Starting April 1, 2026, cash payments will be accepted alongside our existing cashless options. Through this initiative, we aim to create an environment where everyone, including children with pocket money and seniors who prefer using cash, can spend their time more comfortably.
■ What is the "Smart Payment" Concept?
"Smart Payment" is a concept that balances improved customer convenience with efficient stadium operations. We will maintain the benefits of our previous "fully cashless" system—such as the elimination of register closing tasks and the prevention of cash handling errors—while enhancing the convenience of using cash.
・Already Implemented: Cash payments via "J-Prica" cash charging machines / Cash-compatible vending machines
・Scheduled for phased introduction starting April 1: Introduction of automatic change dispensers in stores / Cash support for parking payments / Cash support for food halls / Installation of KIOSK terminals (automatic ticket machines) - *Scheduled for summer 2026
"J-Prica" is a receipt-style prepaid card issued by inserting cash into dedicated machines within the facility. It is ideal for those who want to use cashless payments for just one day, and any remaining balance can be refunded on the day of issuance. We will continue to support J-Prica, so customers who prefer cash can continue to visit with peace of mind.
In addition to existing J-Prica and vending machines, we will introduce "automatic change dispensers" in April, allowing customers to insert cash themselves and receive change automatically. This enables near-contactless cash handling, ensuring hygienic and smooth transactions while reducing the burden on staff. Furthermore, we plan to introduce KIOSK terminals that accept cash in food halls and the 3rd-floor concourse by the summer of 2026. By leveraging the latest technology, we will provide a truly smart stadium experience where all guests can freely choose their preferred payment method.
