Plug and Play Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Vincent Philippe; hereinafter "Plug and Play") announces that it has been entrusted with the planning and operation of the 'OIH Global Bridge' program for FY2026, implemented by the Osaka Foundation for Promotion of Industrial Creation.
Concurrently, the application process for startups to participate in the program has begun.
About the FY2026 'OIH Global Bridge' Program
The Keihanshin region has been designated by the Cabinet Office as a 'Global Hub City' and continues to grow as a cluster for startups aiming at global markets.
'OIH Global Bridge' is a global expansion support program conducted by the Osaka Innovation Hub (OIH) for startups aiming to scale from Osaka and Kansai to the world.
Focusing on biotech, life sciences, green tech, and digital sectors, the program provides tailored support based on each company's business stage and challenges. Leveraging networks with overseas corporations, investors, and support organizations, it supports the creation of opportunities leading to proof-of-concept trials, business partnerships, fundraising, and market access in international markets.
In addition to providing local business meeting opportunities, the program supports practical initiatives such as refining overseas expansion strategies and establishing connections with local partners, empowering startups to enter global markets.

Role of Plug and Play
As an accelerator and venture capital firm with a global network spanning over 60 locations worldwide, Plug and Play has promoted startup support, corporate collaboration, and joint initiatives with local governments and public agencies. In this program, it will leverage its extensive network and expertise to provide tailored support based on each startup’s business stage and challenges, while creating connections with overseas corporations, investors, and support organizations to facilitate opportunities for proof-of-concept, partnerships, fundraising, and market expansion.
Key Support Components
- Pre-Travel Support
Tailored support for international expansion based on each company's business stage and needs. This includes planning for overseas travel, identifying potential partners, and regular mentoring to track progress and address challenges. Expert support will be provided as needed.
- Overseas Travel Support
Opportunities for overseas travel to regions including the U.S., APAC, and Europe, leveraging local networks and events. Based on individual company needs, support includes identifying potential partners, arranging and attending one-on-one meetings, and follow-up activities to generate tangible outcomes from international expansion.
Call for Startups: OIH Global Bridge Program
### Eligibility Criteria
Startups meeting the following conditions:
- Have developed or commercialized a product or service ready for international business discussions, or possess a prototype (for R&D-focused startups, a development team must be established) - Generally established within the last 10 years - Currently expanding overseas or have concrete plans to do so - Founders, executives, or business leaders with decision-making authority must be able to participate - Demonstrate willingness to contribute to the development of Osaka’s startup ecosystem - Must establish a base within two months of program commencement and maintain it in Osaka Prefecture for at least two years (headquarters, branch, sales office, co-working space, etc.; registration not required) - Must participate in all mandatory orientations, reporting sessions, and surveys organized by the program
### Selection Process
An initial document-based screening will be conducted, followed by an English-language presentation interview (second screening) for shortlisted applicants. Final selections will be made based on this process.

*Note: Domestic travel and meal expenses during overseas trips are the responsibility of the participants. See attached for details.
### Financial Support
Up to JPY 1 million per company (maximum)
### Eligible Expenses
- Overseas expansion activities (trade shows, business meetings, proof-of-concept trials, etc.) - Transportation costs at destination - Trade show and event participation fees, etc.
