Mimaki Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture; President and CEO: Kazuaki Ikeda) is pleased to announce the launch of its new UV inkjet printers, the "UJV200-130" and "UJV200-160" (hereinafter referred to as "UJV200"), as new additions to its "200 series" of large-format inkjet printers for sign production. The UJV200 will make its world debut at the international exhibition "International Sign Expo 2026" (Orlando, USA), held from April 8th.
The 200 series, developed under the concept of "High image quality and ease of use for everyone," has been widely adopted since its launch in 2024, receiving praise for its high expressiveness achieved through simple operability from long-time large-format printer users to customers who have recently entered the print business.
Now, we have expanded the expressiveness of the 200 series to UV printing methods and developed the "UJV200." In addition to the broad substrate compatibility unique to the UV method, its instant drying property, which allows for immediate post-processing and installation, enables operations that do not delay the workflow from output to delivery.
The UJV200 is equipped with a single unit of the high-density, high-definition printhead from our flagship "330 engine." Its accurate ink ejection control reproduces smooth human figures with suppressed graininess and uniform, non-mottled solid colors with high precision. From portraits that naturally express skin texture to solid colors that finish beautifully even in large areas, it vividly and faithfully renders design intentions in large advertising signs (Figure 1). Furthermore, it can draw fine lines and small characters sharply, exhibiting excellent performance even in applications requiring visibility and accuracy, such as signage for commercial facilities (Figure 2).
In terms of usability, we have significantly evolved the automatic image quality adjustment function. The time required for adjustment and the amount of substrate used for pattern printing have been reduced to less than half compared to previous models. Moreover, automatic adjustment is possible regardless of substrate color, even on colored or transparent media. It reproduces stable image quality (Figure 3) across a wide range of media and applications, without depending on operator experience, contributing to improved production efficiency.
By combining white ink and clear ink, it supports up to 3-layer printing. This enables high-value-added expressions that combine design and functionality, such as for store window decorations (Figure 4) and stickers/labels (Figure 5).
The UJV200, newly added to the 200 series, demonstrates high productivity not only as a flagship graphic printer but also as a complementary machine for existing equipment, further expanding the possibilities of the sign business.
The UJV200 is available in two sizes to match customer applications, with sales starting in April. We anticipate global sales of 1,000 units annually.
