Japan LEO Shachu, Inc. (Head office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Yudai Yamamoto) and ElevationSpace Co., Ltd. (Head office: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture; Representative Director and CEO: Ryohei Kobayashi) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mutually link the results of their technology development themes adopted under the Space Strategy Fund, with a view to establishing infrastructure for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) activities in the post-International Space Station (ISS) era.

Our company (Japan LEO Shachu) has been adopted as an implementing agency for the Space Strategy Fund's "Low Earth Orbit Autonomous Flight Module System Technology," "Technology for a Material Resupply System with International Competitiveness, Autonomy, and Freedom," and "Technology for Enhancing Extravehicular Utilization Efficiency." We are proceeding with the development of a Japanese module for Low Earth Orbit and a commercial cargo resupply vessel (HTV-XC), among other initiatives. In these endeavors, we place importance not only on technological development but also on studies aimed at establishing these as sustainable businesses that will be stably utilized in the future.

In this collaboration, we will examine the feasibility and business viability of a series of processes for Low Earth Orbit activities, organically connecting launch, cargo resupply, in-orbit experimentation and demonstration, and recovery to the ground, including the cargo recovery system that ElevationSpace is developing under the Space Strategy Fund's "High-Frequency Cargo Recovery System Technology." Through this, we aim to contribute to the establishment of Japan's autonomous and internationally competitive Low Earth Orbit activity infrastructure in the post-ISS era.

Through this partnership, our company will enhance the effectiveness of Low Earth Orbit utilization and, in collaboration with public and private sectors, work towards building a sustainable Low Earth Orbit economic zone by implementing an ecosystem centered on the Japanese module into society.
