On March 28, 2026 (Saturday), Japan Design, Inc. (Headquarters: Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Takuma Otsubo) held a 'Job Reception' to celebrate the new beginnings of four individuals scheduled to join the company as new graduates in fiscal year 2026, along with their parents.

[Background: Addressing 'Job Offer Blues' affecting over half of students]

New graduates finishing their student life and jumping into the unknown professional world often harbor significant anxiety alongside their expectations. According to a survey targeting the class of 2026, 56.7% of students feel anxious about whether they made the right choice after deciding on their future employer (Reference: Mynavi survey).

At our company, we hold this 'Job Reception' inviting families to dispel such pre-employment anxiety (often called 'job offer blues') and help new hires take their first steps into society with peace of mind.

By allowing families to see the actual working environment and colleagues, we aim to ease the anxiety felt by the new employees themselves and build a support system for them after they join the company.

[Main programs conducted on the day]

Parent-child 'Pouring Art' creation

As an icebreaker to ease the tension of the induction ceremony, we provided two canvases per family, and the new graduates and their parents collaborated to create 'pouring art.'

By having them take the artwork home to display, we hope they will remember the determination they felt toward their professional lives and the thoughts they had for their families on the day of the Job Reception, even in their daily lives.

Reading letters to parents

With the Representative Director and senior employees watching, the new employees read letters expressing their gratitude to their parents. By putting into words feelings that are usually difficult to convey, it became a moving time for them to solidify their resolve to become independent professionals.

Welcome with 'Original Manzai (Comedy) by Senior Employees' embodying the company culture

At the social gathering, to help ease the new employees' tension, senior employees performed an original comedy routine incorporating anecdotes about the new hires. It was a time for families to experience, not just hear about, our culture of 'high psychological safety' and 'flat, warm communication.'

Champagne tower to experience our culture

During the social gathering, we conducted a program to experience the 'Law of the Champagne Tower' that we value. We shared with the families our philosophy that one must first fill oneself up both physically and mentally, and then use the overflowing energy to make those around them (family, colleagues, society) happy.

[Post-participation survey results: 75% dispelled anxiety about joining the company]

After the event, we conducted a survey targeting the new graduates. When asked about changes in their anxiety regarding joining the company before and after the event, 3 out of 4 participants (*) answered that it had 'improved somewhat' (anxiety decreased).

(*) One person answered, 'I didn't have much anxiety to begin with.'

Additionally, when asked, 'Has your motivation for working changed?' through today's event, 3 out of 4 answered 'improved significantly,' and 1 answered 'improved.'

It was found that this event has a significant effect on resolving anxiety and improving motivation.

[Feedback from participants]

Feedback from new employees

・I felt once again that this is a very warm workplace because so many employees worked for the sake of the new graduates. ・It was impressive to see the company representative talking with my parents. I was grateful to be able to convey the atmosphere of the company to my parents, even through casual conversation. ・I was very happy that they created a skit that you could only make if you were really paying attention to the prospective employees. ・It was my first time receiving a framed certificate like an employment certificate, so I was very happy.

Feedback from families

・At first, I had a lot of anxiety about whether they could make it at this company and worries about whether they could make it in a place like Tokyo, but those were resolved at this reception.

・There were many polite employees, and I was able to understand the company culture. ・I was able to feel expectation and peace of mind knowing that they would be taking their first steps as professionals in this workplace, together with these seniors.

・The atmosphere of the entire company is good, and I'm glad it seems they will be able to enjoy their professional lives.
