2026 "JAL Athlete Academy" to Launch from July 11

JAL will launch its 2026 "JAL Athlete Academy" on July 11, starting in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Now in its fifth year, the project will expand to new locations, including Hanamaki, Iwate and Obihiro, Hokkaido, with events scheduled in eight locations across Japan and in Bangkok, Thailand. The academy aims to teach children the joy of sports like skiing and track and field. Additionally, a new "JAL Sports Caravan" initiative will be co-hosted with partner municipalities to promote regional revitalization through sports, supporting young people's dreams and fostering a sustainable, well-being future.

JAL will launch the 2026 "JAL Athlete Academy" starting with an event in Sapporo, Hokkaido on Saturday, July 11, 2026. Now in its fifth year, this project continues to expand its regional reach, with first-time events scheduled in Hanamaki, Iwate Prefecture, and Obihiro, Hokkaido.

Furthermore, starting this fiscal year, we will newly establish the "JAL Sports Caravan," co-hosted with local governments in regions with which JAL has deep ties, including partnership agreement areas such as Hokkaido, Ehime, Fukuoka, Saga, and Miyazaki prefectures. Through the "JAL Sports Caravan," we aim to not only support aspiring young athletes but also to further broaden the scope of interaction through sports and promote regional revitalization.

Through the "JAL Athlete Academy" and "JAL Sports Caravan," JAL will convey the joy of sports to children, provide an environment for the young generation to pursue their dreams, and create a sustainable and well-being future where inspiring connections spread throughout society.
