(Joint Release) JAL Airtech and JAL to Launch Campervan Rental Service in April

JAL Airtech Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Ken Morimoto; hereinafter "JAL Airtech") and Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsuko Tottori; hereinafter "JAL") will launch "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER," a campervan (recreational vehicle, hereinafter "RV") rental service where users can earn JAL miles, starting in April 2026 with Narita Airport as the initial base.

This service allows customers to earn JAL miles based on the rental fees of the campervans. To celebrate the launch, special design vehicles have been prepared. These vehicles feature unique content, such as access to JAL's in-flight amenities. The "JAPAN RV TRAVELLER" dedicated website also serves as an RV booking platform, allowing reservations not only for the special design vehicles but also for more than 20 RVs owned by partner companies (*1).

While RVs are popular among international tourists visiting Japan due to their integration of transportation and accommodation offering high travel freedom, they are still in the process of becoming widespread in Japan. This service leverages the JAL Group's aviation network and customer base to promote RV usage, while contributing to solving issues such as the shortage of secondary transportation and lodging in rural tourist areas—a "last mile" initiative. In operating the RVs, JAL Airtech will utilize the technology and expertise cultivated over many years in the maintenance and operation of special airport vehicles to support safe and secure travel.
