Matthew Burgess
Poet and educator. He has written numerous picture book texts and has taught poetry in New York City public schools for over 20 years. He received the Charlotte Zolotow Honor and other awards for the text of this book. He has always believed in the magic that summer brings. Based in New York and Berlin.
Katia Chen
Artist, public speaker, and picture book creator. She won the 2026 Caldecott Medal for 'Hanabi.' She has also received the Society of Illustrators Gold Medal and has been selected for 'Best Books of the Year' by major review journals. As a Brazilian-Taiwanese artist, she actively celebrates BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists. Born in São Paulo, Brazil; based in Los Angeles, USA.
Rea Maki Mori
Born in Kobe. Longtime editor of picture books and children's literature. She won the 71st Sankei Children's Book Culture Award for her translation of 'I Am Subway.' Her other translations include 'I'm Gonna Eat You!', 'My Friend Has a Flower Growing on His Head,' 'The Great Wolf and the Science of Fairy Tales,' 'Hello, Santa!', and 'Kumakun and Kotorisan: The Lost Item' (all published by Iwasaki Shoten).
