IPFT Opens Second Directly Managed Collaboration Cafe 'X CAFE' in Kyoto Shochikuza Building

Intellectual property Farm Tokyo LLC (hereinafter, IPFT), a company specializing in collaboration cafes, opened its second directly managed collaboration cafe, "X CAFE KYOTO," on the 2nd floor of the "MOVIX Kyoto South Building" within the Kyoto Shochikuza Building on April 25, 2026. Previously, IPFT's only directly managed location was "X CAFE SHIBUYA" on the 7th floor of MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 in Shibuya. With this new opening in Kyoto, a two-base system in Tokyo and Kyoto will commence.

A New Directly Managed Location on the 2nd Floor of "MOVIX Kyoto South Building" within the Kyoto Shochikuza Building

"X CAFE KYOTO" will be established on the 2nd floor of the "MOVIX Kyoto South Building" within the Kyoto Shochikuza Building, located in the Shinkyogoku area, the heart of Kyoto. The Kyoto Shochikuza Building is a complex building housing the cinema complex "MOVIX Kyoto South Building" on floors 2F-7F, making it a highly compatible location for entertainment such as movies and anime. By establishing a directly managed base in this location, IPFT will be able to propose and implement more agile and three-dimensional experiential designs linked to the timing of work releases and screenings.

Strengthening the System for Nationwide Expansion, in Addition to Two Directly Managed Bases

"X CAFE," operated by IPFT, is a specialized collaboration cafe brand that expands the world view of works into food and beverages, merchandise, spatial design, and customer experience. With this opening in Kyoto, the directly managed bases will become a two-store system in Shibuya and Kyoto. In addition to directly managed stores, IPFT has utilized its nationwide network, including partners, to develop collaboration cafes in multiple cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Sendai, Fukuoka, and Sapporo. Moving forward, by combining these two directly managed bases with the nationwide event network, IPFT will further strengthen its flexible proposal and implementation system, from single-city events to multi-city expansions, tailored to work characteristics and promotional objectives.

IPFT has promoted collaboration cafe operations that deliver the appeal of IP as "experiential value" through menu development that values the world view of the work, planning of limited goods, in-store decoration, and design of来店特典 (customer benefits). By combining the two directly managed bases in Tokyo and Kyoto with a network of proven event experience nationwide, IPFT will provide rights holders, production committees, and licensees with a more continuous and effective collaboration system.

First Collaboration: "Sound! Euphonium the Movie: Our Promise: A Brand New Day" Commemorative Collaboration Cafe

As the first project for "X CAFE KYOTO," a collaboration cafe commemorating the release of the first part of the animated film "Sound! Euphonium the Movie: Our Promise: A Brand New Day" is being held from April 25 to May 31. This work is a theatrical film produced by Kyoto Animation and distributed by Shochiku. As the opening project for "X CAFE KYOTO," which will be established on the 2nd floor of the "MOVIX Kyoto South Building" within the Kyoto Shochikuza Building, it will be a highly compatible start in terms of location, screening environment, and work background.

Future Outlook

IPFT will continue to expand the appeal of diverse IPs such as anime, games, movies, music, and characters into food and beverages, merchandise, spatial design, and customer experience through "X CAFE."
