The Colors of Autumn~Inuyama Afternoon Tea (Image)

Nestled in Inuyama—the cultural heartland of Nagoya, home to two national treasures—lifestyle boutique hotel Hotel Indigo Inuyama Yurakuen (Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture / General Manager: Yasuhiro Iemura) will launch 'The Colours of Autumn – Inuyama Afternoon Tea,' curated by Inuyama Tourism Ambassador Haruhi Ryo, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Conceptualized as 'tasting the town like visiting its landmarks,' this 'traveling tea time' experience captures the rhythm of a day in Inuyama. Through a carefully crafted menu, guests will savor the region’s culture, nature, and stories. Savory items include a mushroom terrine inspired by the stone steps of Jakko-in, a famous autumn spot; a beef hotpot-style spring roll referencing Meiji Mura, a symbol of Japan’s modernization; and a maritozzo filled with fig and sesame tofu cream, inspired by Momotaro Shrine.

The sweets lineup features delicate creations reflecting Inuyama’s scenery and traditions, such as a kabocha-based treat reminiscent of maple leaves and a spiced Mont Blanc. The tea stand is arranged like a map, visually evoking the joy of exploring Inuyama.

Immerse yourself in the charm of Inuyama, where history, nature, and culture intertwine, during a relaxing afternoon.

The Colours of Autumn – Inuyama Afternoon Tea: Sweets & Savories

Four sweets and a bonbon chocolate are arranged according to an actual map of Inuyama, allowing guests to 'tour' the town on a single plate. This narrative-driven presentation engages both sight and taste.

Sweets:

Spiced Mont Blanc

A luxurious dessert combining spiced chestnut cream, evoking exotic charm. Elegantly represents the multicultural world of Little World.

Retro Castella

Blending the sweetness of figs and the aroma of caramelized apples, this nostalgic treat reflects the Meiji-era modernization depicted at Meiji Mura.

Maple Leaf Sweet Croquette

A gentle encapsulation of autumn’s lingering charm, using kabocha’s natural sweetness and maple-like colors. Inspired by the autumn scenery of Jakko-in, a renowned maple-viewing spot.

Colorful Kibi Dango

A humble bite-sized confection colored with purple sweet potato, beetroot, and kinako. Inspired by the kibi dango of Momotaro Shrine, offering a warm, familiar flavor.

Bonbon Chocolate

A premium single piece with smooth ganache, subtly symbolizing the presence of Hotel Indigo Inuyama Yurakuen within the map-like plating.

Shine Muscat & Kyoho Grapes

Fresh seasonal grapes that enhance the autumnal atmosphere.

Savories:

Beef Hotpot Spring Roll Épi

A light spring roll version of the Meiji-era beef hotpot, shaped like wheat ears. Captures the evolution of food culture in one bite.

Seven-Fukusaka Stone-Paved Terrine

Inspired by Jakko-in’s stone steps, this terrine represents 320 steps using seven types of mushrooms cooked differently. Combined with minced chicken, black garlic, and truffle paste, it conveys the texture of stone and the vitality of autumn.

Fig and Sesame Tofu Cream Maritozzo

Inspired by Momotaro’s loyal dog, this maritozzo features golden sesame richness, smooth tofu and mascarpone, and sweet figs—blending Japanese and Western flavors with playful charm.

World Bite Plate

Inspired by Little World, this plate unites global flavors: yakitori, chili shrimp, olives, and prosciutto, inviting guests on a culinary world tour.

Two Scones & Three Jams

A thick, cookie-like chocolate scone and a delicate layered plain scone.

Paired with clotted cream, Mino Musume strawberry jam from Gifu Prefecture, and refreshing lemon cream—customize your perfect combination.

Beverages:

Coffee, Herbal Tea, Black Tea

Enjoy premium coffee from Saito Coffee, a Nagoya roastery with 75 years of heritage, alongside German tea brand Ronnefeldt and Los Angeles-based organic brand Art of Tea.
