Insta360 today announced a major update for its Flow 2 and Flow 2 Pro smartphone gimbals, significantly expanding compatibility across both iPhone and Android platforms and further evolving the pocket-sized AI filming experience.
### Key Update Features
**Multi-Lens Support (Android & iOS)** By combining the Insta360 app with the Flow 2 series, users on supported Android smartphones can now access ultra-wide and telephoto lenses. This unlocks the full camera potential of flagship devices like Samsung and Google Pixel, enabling professional-grade visuals from expansive landscapes to detailed close-ups.
**360 Panorama 2.0 (High-Speed Processing)** The Flow 2 series remains the only smartphone gimbal supporting true spherical panorama capture. This update introduces '360 Panorama 2.0,' which boosts generation speed by up to 50%, allowing capture and stitching to be completed in as little as 20 seconds. Users can then crop desired frames or share them via links.
**Dual-View Functionality** Record using front and rear cameras simultaneously, or dual rear cameras, to capture multiple angles in a single take. This produces up to three independent clips, perfect for reaction videos and Vlogs.
**Apple Watch Control** Users can now start/stop recording, switch modes, and control zoom directly from their Apple Watch. This enables intuitive, hands-free remote operation without touching the phone or gimbal.
**Evolution of AI Tracking** - **AI Tracker:** Subject tracking is now available across all Android devices and apps. - **Multi-Person Tracking:** Automatically tracks multiple subjects simultaneously. - **Active Zoom Tracking:** Maintains precise tracking even at up to 15x zoom.
These enhancements ensure stable footage in diverse environments, including sports, live events, and daily life.
**Availability** The update is available now through the Insta360 app and official website. Compatibility varies by smartphone model.
**About Insta360** Founded in 2015, Insta360 is the industry leader with the world's largest market share in spherical VR cameras. With a vision of the 'Future Camera Man,' the company advances research in imaging algorithms, AI, mechanical control, acoustics, and optics, aiming to help people better record and share their lives.
