Profile of Azusa Ogura Born in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo in 1965. She was born as the eldest daughter to parents who ran a wholesale business for children's toys in Asakusa. She was active from an early age, and her 10 years of experience at Labo Party, focusing on international exchange and language, greatly influenced her subsequent various activities. After graduating from high school, she went to the United States to study language. Several years later, due to family circumstances, she returned to Japan halfway through her studies and joined a yacht import and sales company, where she learned about overall business management. Later, through her connection with Shuichi Ogura, she co-founded the current IMADEYA as Senior Managing Director. At IMADEYA, she launched the wine department in 1990, when sales were almost zero, and now considers the growth of the Japanese wine industry her life's work. She has no particular hobbies, enjoys dining, reading, and traditional Japanese attire, and finds thinking about IMADEYA to be her greatest joy.

Azusa Ogura, Executive Vice President, IMADEYA Co., Ltd.

Message from Azusa Ogura It has been 36 years since I married into IMADEYA through a fortunate connection. My current work, centered on Japanese sake, presents various challenges daily, but I truly feel it holds infinite wonderful possibilities. Indeed, sake is fascinating. This time, to create an even brighter future, I have decided to entrust the baton of practical operations to a reliable next-generation team. As Executive Vice President, I intend to continue connecting the culture that IMADEYA has cherished to the next generation, while also pursuing new challenges that I can undertake myself.

I sincerely ask for your continued strict, yet sometimes warm, guidance and encouragement.

Influenced by his father, who worked for a securities company, he transferred schools across Japan until junior high school and was passionate about basketball. He then enrolled in the Faculty of Letters at Chuo University. Weekends were spent working part-time at wedding venues, while weekdays were dedicated to skiing and domestic/international travel. Attracted by sake that accompanies people's lives, he joined Sapporo Breweries in 1990. He gained sales experience in Kobe, Chiba, Sapporo, Tokyo, and Fukuoka. From 1994 for six years, he was in charge of IMADEYA Co., Ltd. from a sales perspective. Subsequently, he served as Advertising Department Manager, Human Resources Department Manager, and Executive Officer for the West Japan Headquarters, learning about overall business management. In 2025, he retired from Sapporo Breweries and joined IMADEYA Co., Ltd. as an Executive Officer, responsible for the restaurant wholesale business division and human resources division.
