IKOU Portable Chair" Donated to Mito City Arena by Ibaraki Robots | Towards Inclusive Spectator Environment in the Region

Halu Inc. (Headquarters: Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture; Representative Director: Yuri Matsumoto; hereinafter "Halu")'s "IKOU Portable Chair" was donated to Mito City (Adastria Mito Arena) through "M-HOPE," a regional contribution activity by Ibaraki Robots (Ibaraki Robots Sports Entertainment Co., Ltd.). With the sponsorship of Medical Corporation Hokusuikai, the club purchased and donated 15 chairs. They will be permanently installed at the arena from March 7, 2026, and will be available for rent not only during Ibaraki Robots home games but also at various other events.

Background: The "Invisible Barrier" in Sports Spectating

Many families wish to enjoy watching sports with their children, but they often harbor anxieties such as, "Will my child be able to sit through the entire game?", "Will they cause trouble for those around us?", or "Can they spend time comfortably even with differences in physical condition or development?"

The "IKOU Portable Chair" is a foldable kids' chair developed to resolve such "invisible barriers." It allows children with weak core muscles to sit stably on their own and can be easily attached to adult chairs.

Ibaraki Robots' Regional Contribution Activity "M-HOPE"

Ibaraki Robots promotes "M-HOPE," a regional contribution activity, throughout Ibaraki Prefecture, starting with its hometown of Mito City. As part of this initiative, with the sponsorship of Medical Corporation Hokusuikai, 15 "IKOU Portable Chairs" were donated to Adastria Mito Arena via Mito City.

Permanently installed at the arena from March 7, 2026, these chairs will be available not only for Ibaraki Robots home games but also for various other events held at the arena. By being utilized in various regional events beyond sports spectating, this initiative aims to create an inclusive arena environment where everyone, regardless of disability or developmental characteristics, can spend time with peace of mind.

Sports Spectating for All Families

The "IKOU Portable Chair" has already been introduced to sports teams and facilities, receiving feedback such as, "This is the first time I was able to watch a game all the way through (since having children)," and "It's wonderful that our family can enjoy it together."

Cases like this, where sports teams donate equipment to local government facilities to improve the viewing environment, are garnering attention as a new point of contact between regional sports and social inclusion. By being used in events other than home games, the arena is expected to become an open space for the entire community.
