IKEA to Open "IKEA Pop-up Store in Tobetsu Town" for a Limited Time from Mid-May

IKEA Japan K.K. (Head office: Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director and Chief Sustainability Officer: Petra Färre), the Japanese subsidiary of IKEA, a Swedish-born home furnishing company with the vision "to create a better everyday life for the many people," will open its first "IKEA Pop-up Store in Tobetsu Town" in the Hokkaido area, located within "Hokko no Kaze Michi-no-Eki Tobetsu," for a limited period from mid-May to mid-November 2026.

IKEA aims to realize "a more accessible, more affordable, and more sustainable IKEA" and is expanding various touchpoints as an omnichannel retailer. By continuously strengthening and comprehensively connecting each channel, such as IKEA stores, customer support centers, IKEA online store, IKEA app, and product pickup points, IKEA is committed to providing a more comfortable, convenient, and seamless shopping experience.

Customers in Hokkaido have previously utilized various services such as the IKEA online store, IKEA app, customer support center, and product pickup points. We are very pleased to be able to offer the people of Hokkaido the opportunity to directly experience IKEA products and services in a physical store, albeit for a limited time, in collaboration with the people of Tobetsu Town. Through the IKEA Pop-up Store, we aim to further advance our omnichannel initiatives in Hokkaido, and as a "partner for life at home," IKEA wishes to support each customer's needs and help them create a home where they feel "I love this home."

Furthermore, Tobetsu Town, where the IKEA Pop-up Store will appear, is located approximately 40 minutes by car from central Sapporo and has ties to Sweden, having formed a sister city partnership with Leksand Municipality, Sweden. Due to this background, IKEA items have been incorporated into the interior design of facilities such as "Hokko no Kaze Michi-no-Eki Tobetsu." For IKEA, a company with Swedish roots, Tobetsu Town is a place with a special connection. At this pop-up store, in this place where Sweden and Japan meet, you can discover the charm of Nordic home living through the ideas and solutions offered by the IKEA Pop-up Store.

At the IKEA Pop-up Store in Tobetsu Town, a carefully selected range of approximately 9,500 products from IKEA's lineup will be sold, allowing people of all generations to enjoy a comfortable and sustainable life at home. A wide range of products will be available, from furniture and interior/lifestyle goods to take-home food items.
