It has been over 10 years since the 'Act for the Promotion of Measures to Prevent Bullying' was enacted and implemented in 2013. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), boards of education, and schools have been advancing efforts to prevent bullying. However, according to a MEXT survey, both the number of recognized bullying cases and the number of serious bullying incidents reached a record high in FY2024. Regarding anti-bullying measures, not only educational personnel such as school teachers and boards of education, but also experts from various fields including the judiciary, medical care, welfare, and administration are involved, and both practice and research are currently progressing. At the inaugural conference held previously, Dr. Naoki Ogi, Professor Emeritus at Hosei University who frequently appears in the media, was invited, and lively discussions took place. The 2nd Academic Conference of the Child Bullying Prevention Society will be held at Tokyo Medical University Hospital (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) on July 11 (Sat) and 12 (Sun), 2026 (Conference President: Jiro Masuya).
