Iida Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Musashino-shi, Tokyo; President: Shigehiko Tsukiji), which operates the [Miyako Kurima Resort Seawood Hotel] on Kurima Island at the southern tip of Miyako Island, Okinawa, has launched the reservation site for 'MIYAKO GALAXY-DOME' on April 7th (Tuesday), which will have its grand opening on June 1st (Monday), 2026. Reservations for the period from June 1st (Monday) to August 31st (Monday) are now being accepted.

'MIYAKO GALAXY-DOME' was born from the desire to deliver a starry sky experience that can only be had here, taking advantage of Miyako Island's unique starry sky at 24 degrees north latitude and its low-light-pollution environment, which is certified by the Ministry of the Environment, as Miyako Island's first public observatory.

In this facility, celestial objects captured by the observatory dome's telescope are projected onto a 7.5m diameter high-definition LED dome. The fusion of LED planetarium visuals and stereophonic sound provides an immersive starry sky experience as if you've leaped into space. Furthermore, in each 'MIYAKO GALAXY-DOME' tour, you can enjoy the different charms of the stars depending on the time of day, with commentary from our 'Uncle of the Stars,' who is a certified nature guide from the Big Island of Hawaii.

Another major feature is its location within the 'Seawood Hotel,' which has villas equipped with private pools and jacuzzis. It realizes a rare resort experience where the stay and the starry sky facility are integrated, allowing you to enjoy a special stay that can only be found here, enveloped by the rich nature of Miyako Island and a star-filled sky.

*First in Japan... in the planetarium viewing service in Japan (as of March 1, 2026 (Sun) / according to our own research)
