IBJ, Inc., a leader in marriage matching, conducted a survey via its 'IBJ Matching App Lab' regarding the 'ideal husband and father' among 1,237 users of the 'Bridal Net' app.

While approximately half of female respondents stated they 'respect' their fathers, only about 40% expressed a desire to 'marry someone like their father.' Although the role of the 'traditional breadwinner' is still highly valued, there is a clear trend toward prioritizing a partnership that involves sharing household chores and childcare, rather than just relying on the husband.

When asked about their fathers, 51.0% of women said they 'respect' them. However, regarding the question 'Do you want to marry someone like your father?', about 60% gave negative answers (25.1% 'not really,' 33.3% 'not at all').

### Common 'NG' Behaviors for Both Genders
Both men and women expressed negative views toward fathers who were 'patriarchal' or 'prone to becoming emotional.'

### The 'Family Breadwinner' Remains Supported
The top reason for wanting to 'be like one's father' or 'marry someone like one's father' was, for both genders, that they 'work hard to support the family economically.'

### Reiwa Ideal: 'Emotional Empathy' and 'Collaboration'
In the survey among men, a shift in the 'Reiwa-era male' value system was observed, with a preference for building relationships based on dialogue and cooperation rather than emotional control. Beyond economic power, 'active participation in housework and childcare' is now considered a key quality for the ideal partner.
