While crab is generally known to be in season in winter, Hyogo Prefecture's Tajima region offers 'Kasumi Crab,' a red snow crab that can also be enjoyed in spring.

Kasumi Crab refers to red snow crabs landed at Kasumi Fishing Port in San'in, Hyogo Prefecture. Raised in mineral-rich deep-sea water, they have a high moisture content and a distinctive sweetness.
