Outline of Support

Shibecha High School is the only comprehensive high school in the town, offering an environment where students can proactively learn according to their interests and concerns. It is characterized by its close ties with the community, with the school and community collaborating to support learning through activities such as selling agricultural products at festivals and developing Furusato Nozei return gifts. However, due to the declining birthrate and aging population, the number of students is decreasing, posing challenges for the school's future survival and the maintenance of its educational environment. Other challenges include the lack of development in commuting and living environments, information dissemination, and PR for its appeal. In response, the town will fully scale up national recruitment efforts from Reiwa 6 (2024) fiscal year, working together with the entire town, not just the school, to enhance its appeal and acceptance system, aiming for the high school's continued existence and development in unity with the community.

How Donations Will Be Used

The donations received through this project will be utilized for educational and child-rearing support projects, among others.

Shibecha Town is located almost in the center of the Kushiro Subprefecture in eastern Hokkaido. It is a town centered on dairy farming, making use of its vast area of 1,099.37 km². Its cheese, characterized by its rich aroma as it ages, comes highly recommended. "Hoshizora no Kuroushi" (Starry Sky Black Beef) is raised amidst drastic temperature differences, resulting in a superb balance of lean meat and marbling.
