Hyojito Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi; President: Takahiro Tokumo; hereinafter "the Company"), a firm engaged in businesses such as the installation of peripheral information maps, has installed the "Turn NAVI" number guidance system at the Citizens' Division of Izumo City Hall in Shimane Prefecture to support the streamlining of counter services.
In 2020, Izumo City formulated the "Izumo City Digital First Declaration" to address social issues such as the declining birthrate, aging population, population decline, and the enhancement of education, medical care, welfare, and the promotion of industry and tourism through digital transformation (DX). The city is currently promoting sustainable urban development toward the realization of a "Smart City Izumo."
As one of the initiatives under "Digital First," the "Turn NAVI" number guidance system has been introduced at the Citizens' Division of Izumo City Hall. In addition to issuing reception numbers, this system displays the progress of counter procedures and calling status on monitors in real-time, facilitating smooth counter guidance. The introduction is expected to resolve issues that previously burdened both visitors and staff, with the following anticipated benefits:
1. Real-time visualization of counter progress, number of people waiting, and wait times.
2. Streamlining of counter operations by enabling guidance for procedures spanning multiple counters with a single ticket issuance.
3. Improvement of counter services through the use of system data for reducing wait times and optimizing personnel allocation.
The Company will continue to support the DX promotion of local governments and contribute to improving convenience for visitors and increasing the efficiency of counter operations.
Comment from Mr. Sasaki of the Digital Strategy Office, Izumo City Hall, regarding the installation of "Turn NAVI"
The deciding factor for introducing the "Turn NAVI" number guidance system was its ability to clearly display calling order and the number of people waiting on large monitors, which effectively communicates the congestion status to visitors.
Before the introduction, the process involved visitors filling out documents at writing desks and then receiving a calling number at the reception counter. This resulted in long lines, making it difficult for both visitors and staff to grasp wait times and the number of people waiting.
Since the installation of this system, these issues are being steadily resolved. In particular, the ability for visitors to check wait times from their smartphones has helped alleviate congestion in the waiting area.
