Hyojito Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi; President: Takahiro Tokumo; hereinafter 'the Company'), a firm engaged in projects such as the installation of peripheral information maps, has introduced the 'Turn NAVI' number guidance system to the Citizens' Affairs Division of Izumo City Hall in Shimane Prefecture to facilitate smoother counter services.

In 2020, Izumo City formulated the 'Izumo City Digital First Declaration' to address social issues—such as the declining birthrate, aging population, population decrease, and the need for improved education, healthcare, welfare, and industrial/tourism promotion—through digital transformation. The city is currently promoting sustainable urban development toward the realization of a 'Smart City Izumo.'

As part of the initiatives outlined in 'Digital First,' the 'Turn NAVI' number guidance system has been installed in the Citizens' Affairs Division. In addition to issuing reception numbers, this system displays the progress of procedures and call status on monitors in real-time, streamlining counter guidance. The introduction is expected to resolve issues that previously burdened both visitors and staff, with the following anticipated benefits:

1. Real-time visualization of counter progress, number of people waiting, and wait times.

2. Ability to guide visitors through procedures spanning multiple counters with a single ticket, leading to increased operational efficiency.

3. Utilization of system data to improve counter services, such as reducing wait times and optimizing staff allocation.

The Company will continue to support the digital transformation of local governments, contributing to improved convenience for visitors and increased efficiency in counter operations.

Comment from Mr. Sasaki of the Digital Strategy Office at Izumo City Hall regarding the installation of 'Turn NAVI'

The deciding factor for introducing the 'Turn NAVI' system was its ability to clearly display the order of calls and the number of people waiting on large monitors, effectively communicating counter congestion to visitors.

Before the introduction, the process involved visitors filling out documents at a writing desk and then receiving a call number at the reception counter. This often led to long queues, making it difficult for both visitors and staff to grasp wait times and the number of people waiting.

Since the installation of this system, these issues are being steadily resolved. In particular, the ability for visitors to check wait times via their smartphones has helped alleviate congestion in the waiting area.
