Hoyu Hair Color Museum (903 Tokugawa-cho, Higashi-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) will hold 'JAPAN COLORS CHRONICLE: From Ancient to Modern Times. The Colorful Culture of the Japanese People that Dyed the Eras' from Saturday, April 11 to Sunday, August 30, in the 1st-floor Special Exhibition Room.

1. Overview of the Special Exhibition
From ancient to modern times. The Japanese people have lived with color.
Colors born from the light and dark of the sun.
Colors that reflect nature, speak of social status, are refined within restrictions, meet the world, and change their appearance.
None of these were merely beautiful; they reflected ways of living and values.
Colors ask questions every time an era changes.
What do we feel is beautiful? How do we want to be? What kind of self do we want to show to the world?
There is no single answer.
That is why colors are never lost and continue to be updated today.

This exhibition is a special project that aims to unravel why the various colors that have adorned Japan in each era, from ancient to modern times, were accepted and how they influenced society from diverse aspects such as cultural customs and dyeing techniques.

2. Background of the Special Exhibition
Hoyu Co., Ltd.'s predecessor, Mizuno Kankudo, was founded in 1905 and celebrated its 120th anniversary last year in 2025. During this time, we have developed mainly hair dye products, helping to color people's hearts by beautifully coloring their hair.

As we enter our 121st year, we planned and implemented this exhibition with the thought of carving out a new history for our company by looking back on the 'colors' that we have been and will continue to be involved with.

3. Composition of the Special Exhibition
(1) Panel Exhibition: Explanations of color trends, incorporation methods, and historical backgrounds from ancient to modern times.
