"HOSHINOYA," offering an overwhelming sense of escape through unique themes at each of its properties. HOSHINOYA Fuji, Japan's first glamping resort, will host "Glamorous Grape Stay," a program to savor autumn grapes, from September 1 to 30, 2026. This 3-day, 2-night program allows guests to delve into the profound depths of Koshu and Muscat Bailey A, Yamanashi's two native grape varieties, by visiting wineries and farms, starting from Daizenji Temple, the origin of Koshu grapes. Guests will interact with winemakers and enjoy a special pairing dinner curated by the chef. The evening before experiencing the world of grapes, guests can anticipate the next day's journey while sipping mulled wine and gazing at a flickering bonfire.
Background Yamanashi Prefecture boasts a wide variety of fruits due to its favorable geographical conditions, including long hours of sunshine, significant temperature differences between day and night, and well-draining soil. Among these, grapes have a long history, with cultivation said to have begun approximately 1,300 years ago (*1). Yamanashi Prefecture has proudly held the top production volume in Japan for over 10 consecutive years (*2). Autumn, in particular, is the grape harvest season, offering the appeal of enjoying various varieties. Furthermore, Yamanashi is the birthplace of wine production in Japan, with many wines made using Koshu and Muscat Bailey A, native Japanese grape varieties suited to Yamanashi's climate and terroir (*3). This program was developed with the desire to offer an autumn experience unique to Yamanashi, allowing guests to enjoy the scenery of ripening grapes and wine.

Introduction to National Treasure Daizenji Temple
Founded in 718 (Year 2 of Yoro), it is known as the "Grape Temple" and is considered the birthplace of Koshu grapes. The main deity is the Yakushi Nyorai, who holds grapes in his hands, as inspired by a divine dream of the Buddhist monk Gyoki. This tradition continues today through grape cultivation and winemaking within the temple grounds. Along with the National Treasure Yakushi-do Hall, the oldest wooden structure in the Kanto region, it conveys the history and culture of Yamanashi to the present day.
