KEEN Japan LLC (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Hilda Chang) and Hoshino Resorts' Tanigawadake Joch and LUCY Oze Hatoma-chi are pleased to announce a collaboration project between the outdoor footwear brand "KEEN" and these two facilities. Based on "Washi Socks," made from yarn spun from natural Japanese paper, original socks have been jointly developed and will be sold, featuring motifs of the nature of Mt. Tanigawa and Oze respectively. Furthermore, Tanigawadake Joch will launch a KEEN footwear rental service starting July 5, 2026, and LUCY Oze Hatoma-chi will hold a collaboration event in September, offering content to fully enjoy KEEN amidst the nature of Mt. Tanigawa and Oze.

Background

This collaboration was realized through the shared vision of KEEN, which defines "everything without a ceiling" as the outdoors and proposes innovative hybrid footwear that reduces environmental impact, and the two facilities: Tanigawadake Joch, a "spot where you can experience the charm of the mountains year-round, not just for climbing," and LUCY Oze Hatoma-chi, "the hotel where the best Oze hikes begin." Through the sale of jointly developed original socks, footwear rental services, and collaboration events (*1), we aim to provide more people with the joy of deeply connecting with nature.

*1 Rental services will be conducted at Tanigawadake Joch, and collaboration events at LUCY Oze Hatoma-chi.

KEEN's "Washi Socks" are multifunctional socks made from yarn spun from Japanese paper, a sustainable material in Japan, suitable for everything from sandals to waterproof shoes. The use of natural Japanese paper makes them sweat-absorbent, quick-drying, antibacterial, deodorizing, and lightweight. The original Washi Socks feature colors inspired by the nature of Mt. Tanigawa and Oze, with the shape of Mt. Tanigawa and the LUCY brand logo embroidered on the ankle area. They are original goods that not only provide comfort when worn but also lift your spirits from your feet up as you explore nature. They are sold exclusively at Tanigawadake Joch and LUCY Oze Hatoma-chi.
