At the hot spring inn 'Aomoriya by Hoshino Resorts,' where you can fully enjoy Aomori's culture, the 'Jawame (1) Apple Festival,' an event where you can enjoy the autumn harvest surrounded by apples 360 degrees, will be held from September 1 to December 1, 2026. Autumn is the harvest season for apples, of which Aomori boasts the highest domestic production volume in Japan (2). This year, marking the 13th anniversary of the event themed around such apples, we will hold an 'Apple Auction Experience' where you can feel the heat of the market. In addition, a new 2-meter-high 'Dettada (3) Apple Lantern,' a photo spot, and an 'Apple Quiz Rally,' where you can deepen your knowledge of apples while walking around the premises, are also available, allowing you to fully enjoy autumn in Aomori with apple-themed programs.

A venue where lively cheers are exchanged

We will hold an 'Apple Auction Experience' every evening where you can feel the heat of an apple market. Participants will wear auction-specific hats and act as buyers to bid on apples. Before the start, staff who are also auctioneers will explain the varieties and production methods of the apples on offer, which will also be useful for pre-auction inspection. The apples you win can be taken home as they are. Depending on the harvest season, rare apples may be offered, and what you can obtain is a surprise for the day.

In the 'Apple Lantern Corridor,' which connects the Jawame Square and the West Building, about 300 lanterns are lined up, allowing you to enjoy a world of apples that spreads across your field of vision. Furthermore, the space is filled with the pleasant aroma of apples, allowing you to enjoy apples with both your visual and olfactory senses.
