[Original Survey] Survey on Ceiling Height and Comfort: Approximately 67.5% Responded that "High Ceilings in a Home are Attractive"

Hoosiers Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Eiichi Ogawa), a member of our group, announces the results of the "Survey on Ceiling Height and Comfort" conducted from December 2025 to January 2026 among 237 men and women nationwide. Our group's "Hoshikatta Kurashi Lab" has been conducting various research since 2018 to pursue the "desired lifestyle" sought by society and everyone. ■ Survey on Ceiling Height and Comfort: Result Summary 1. 67.5% of respondents answered that high ceilings in the living room are attractive. Regarding whether high ceilings in the living room are attractive, 67.5% answered "strongly agree" or "agree." 2. A tendency to emphasize emotional values such as "a sense of openness" and "relaxation" as benefits of high ceilings. As for the "spatial," "psychological," and "interior" benefits of high ceilings in the living room, "provides a sense of openness (81.9%)" ranked first, "provides a spacious and relaxing atmosphere (72.6%)" ranked second, and "allows for larger windows, bringing more natural light into the room (59.1%)" ranked third. It is highly likely that people are more attracted to the enhanced emotional value of daily calmness and spaciousness from high ceilings than to the creation of a non-routine feeling through interior design. 3. Difficulty in temperature regulation and hygiene mentioned as disadvantages of high ceilings. As for the disadvantages of high ceilings in the living room, "poor thermal efficiency, likely increasing electricity and gas bills (65.8%)" ranked first, followed by "difficulty in cleaning high places such as windows (58.2%)."
