MARUNOUCHI SUMMER FEST: A City-Wide Cross-Sector Event Born from Connections Between Companies, Stores, Public Spaces, and People Begins

The MARUNOUCHI SUMMER FEST Executive Committee (comprising the General Incorporated Association Otemachi-Marunouchi-Yurakucho Area Development Council, the Specified Nonprofit Corporation Daimaru-Yu Area Management Association, the General Incorporated Association Daimaru-Yu Environmentally Symbiotic Town Development Promotion Association, and Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd.) will hold the first-ever 'MARUNOUCHI SUMMER FEST' from Friday, July 24, to Sunday, August 23, 2026, at various locations in the Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho area. This event offers a variety of workshops and experiences that allow both children and adults to enjoy the entire Marunouchi area as one integrated city. *A detailed release is scheduled for early July. "A place to work becomes a place to enjoy." As diverse work styles become more prevalent, business districts are increasingly expected to serve not just as places to work, but as complex hubs that enhance quality of life through experiences like interaction, learning, and enjoyment. In the Marunouchi area, in an era where the value of a workplace is being re-evaluated, initiatives are underway to leverage the connections between companies, stores, public spaces, and people concentrated in the area to improve the overall appeal of the city and the satisfaction and QOL of the people who work there. During the summer, the area has traditionally hosted many experiential events such as Bon Odori dancing and Uchimizu water-sprinkling. This new event expands on these efforts, aiming to create a new 'summer tradition' for Marunouchi by deploying and promoting activities across the entire city. By creating opportunities for workers and their families to freely explore the city and encounter various experiences as an extension of their daily lives, the event seeks to help them feel the joy and richness of spending time in this city, deepen their attachment to the Marunouchi area, and ultimately contribute to the sustainable enhancement of the city's value. Other unique content suitable for summer vacation research projects includes a kids' nail art experience, a YouTuber experience using professional equipment for filming, editing, and publishing, and a medical experience where participants can operate an ultrasound machine to learn about hospital work.
