TOPPAN Holdings Inc. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hideharu Maro; hereinafter referred to as TOPPAN Holdings) announced that on March 30, 2024, it obtained certification for ISO 45001*, the international standard for occupational health and safety management systems, at 44 factories across 7 manufacturing companies within the Group. While the TOPPAN Group had obtained certification at 4 factories of 4 manufacturing companies in March of last year, this latest certification significantly expands that scope.
The TOPPAN Group has set the establishment of a workplace environment where employees can be healthy in mind and body and demonstrate their abilities with peace of mind as one of its key management objectives. In recent years, risks related to employee labor have been increasing due to the diversification of work and advancements in mechanization. To fulfill its social responsibilities within the global supply chain, the Group has been implementing objective evaluation and improvement processes based on international standards and proceeding with obtaining ISO 45001 certification. The expansion of the certification scope this time was made possible by horizontally deploying the operational know-how from the 4 factories that had先行 obtained ISO 45001 certification.

* ISO 45001 is an international standard for occupational health and safety management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2018. ISO 45001 requires a system and its operation to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses and provide a safe and healthy workplace by implementing continuous improvement through a PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle, including management's declaration of safety and health policy, investigation of hazards or harmful factors and measures taken based on the results, setting of safety and health objectives, and creation, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of safety and health plans.
