New Proposal for Japan's Summer: "High Dehumidification" System "SMART-ECS SARAWEL" Launches with Industry-Leading Dehumidifying Power for Whole-House Comfort

Panasonic HVAC & CC Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Panasonic) and Sekisui House, Ltd. (hereinafter Sekisui House) have jointly developed "SMART-ECS SARAWEL," a dehumidifying heat exchange ventilation system with industry-leading dehumidifying power that reduces humidity from outside air before it enters the home, alleviating stuffiness and stickiness throughout the house. The system will be released on August 3, 2026.

"SMART-ECS SARAWEL" is a cutting-edge indoor environment system that achieves a comfortable living environment by removing moisture from humid outside air during summer, adjusting temperature and humidity, and then introducing it into the home. Addressing the challenge of increasing humidity in Japanese summers, it proactively suppresses moisture entering the house with industry-leading dehumidifying power equivalent to a rated dehumidification capacity of 3.1 kg/h. By combining Sekisui House's expertise in housing design and living environments with Panasonic's air quality and HVAC technology, the system delivers dehumidified air not only to living rooms and bedrooms but also to non-living areas without air conditioning, such as hallways and washrooms.

This system helps reduce stuffiness and skin stickiness during summer and the rainy season, supporting the creation of a consistently comfortable and dry living space throughout the house. Furthermore, it facilitates drying of laundry indoors and helps prevent mold and dust mites by reducing moisture buildup. By controlling humidity without excessively lowering room temperature, it offers a comfortable experience for those sensitive to cold drafts from air conditioners or overcooling.
