Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Eiji Morita; hereinafter 'Hitachi Solutions') held a seminar on 'AI Agents and Security' on March 18, in collaboration with the Waseda University Center for Data Science, with which it has an academic exchange agreement. This is the fifth year of the seminar, which was attended by 59 participants, primarily students from the university. As the use of generative AI and AI agents expands, new risks that cannot be addressed by conventional cybersecurity measures, such as information leakage, malfunctions, and prompt injection, are becoming apparent. In this seminar, we discussed security risks from both research/education and corporate practice perspectives, involving students who are the next generation of users and developers, regarding the balance between convenience and safety in the social implementation of AI agents. Through this seminar, Hitachi Solutions supports the development of next-generation talent based on its expertise in security, one of its key businesses, and contributes to the society's SX (Sustainability Transformation).
