Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Eiji Morita) held a seminar on "AI Agents and Security" on March 18, co-hosted with the Waseda University Center for Data Science, with which it has an academic exchange agreement. This year marks the fifth time the seminar has been held, with 59 participants, mainly students from the university.

In this seminar, from both the perspectives of research/education and corporate practice, the balance between convenience and safety in the social implementation of AI agents was discussed, with students, who are the next generation of users and developers, joining to debate the security risks.
Through this seminar, Hitachi Solutions will support the development of next-generation human resources based on its expertise in security, one of its priority business areas, and contribute to society's SX (Sustainability Transformation).

The seminar featured lectures and a panel discussion by security experts from Hitachi Solutions and faculty from the Waseda University Center for Data Science.
In Hitachi Solutions' lecture, they explained the security risks that companies face when considering AI adoption, as well as approaches to countermeasures against information leakage and unauthorized operations. The lecture from the Waseda University Center for Data Science introduced the technological background of generative AI and AI agents, and the risks to consider during their design and utilization.
In the panel discussion, based on the lecture content, an exchange of opinions on balancing convenience and safety was held, with students also participating.
In a post-seminar survey, comments included, "The problems AI faces were explained clearly and concisely based on the latest examples," and "I was able to become aware of the factors that hinder AI utilization and the points that need attention."
