Hikari Table Co., Ltd. (Location: Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative: Kumi Ono) will hold a parent-child food education event "First Parent-Child Cooking 1 DAY MISSION" for preschoolers to elementary school children and their fathers on July 18, 2026 (Sat) at the Ichinomiya Aidenten Endo Kitchen Space in Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture.
This event is not about competing in cooking skills, but an experiential event that values enjoying small "I did it!" moments while working together as a parent and child.
For fathers who are usually busy and don't have much time to spend with their children. And for mothers who are busy every day during summer vacation.
Our aim is to deliver summer memories to fathers and children, and a little bit of relaxation to mothers.
Small successes through "food" during summer vacation parent-child time
Summer vacation is a special time for children, but it is also a time when parents worry about daily meal preparation and how to spend their time.
"I want to create memories with my child." "I want to create time for just dad and child." "I'm not good at cooking, but I want to experience something with my child."
For such families, Hikari Table has planned an event to foster parent-child interaction through food.
What remains in a child's memory is not just special outings.
Washing hands together. Making onigiri together. Stirring the pot together. Laughing together and saying "We did it!". Watching your child's challenge and gently encouraging them.
Such casual experiences can become precious memories for parents and children.
It's okay if you're not good at cooking. A "1 DAY MISSION" challenge for parents and children
In this event, fathers and children will take on a cooking mission together.
To ensure that even those who are not good at cooking can participate with peace of mind, the process is designed to be easy and safe for children to work on.
The experience includes:
- Challenge to "knead, mix, and pack" - Making homemade ketchup - Quick curry making using kitchen appliances - Food education experience to feel familiar with fish and vegetables - Enjoying what you made at home - Creating summer memories with a parent-child photo
While valuing enjoyment together as a parent and child over perfection, we foster children's small successes of "I did it myself!"
Two hours for just parents and children, where you might hear "Dad's amazing!"
This event is not a cooking class for dads who are good at cooking.
Through processes that are easy for parents and children to do together, such as washing hands, kneading, mixing, and packing, we create opportunities to naturally engage with food.
It is a two-hour special summer vacation experience for fathers who are usually busy and find it difficult to spend quality time with their children.
"Dad, let's do it again!"
We aim for a warm parent-child time where such words can be spoken.
Memories for the children. A little relaxation for Mom.
During summer vacation, many mothers struggle with meal preparation and how their children spend their time.
By having fathers and children participate in the event together, we want to provide memories for the children and a little relaxation for the mothers.
We hope that the parent-child cooking time will be an opportunity for the family to think, "Let's try doing this together again."
Three souvenirs to enjoy even after returning home
On the day of the event, it doesn't end with just the experience; we have prepared souvenirs that parents and children can enjoy even after returning home.
- Menu made by parents and children - Easy recipes to enjoy at home - Parent-child photos taken with a DSLR camera
We aim to foster conversations between parents and children, such as "Shall we try making this again?" not only on the event day but also after returning home.
Registered dietitians will support the cooking on the day
On the day, registered dietitians Kumi Ono and Satsuki Inamoto will support the parent-child cooking.
While valuing enjoyment together as a parent and child over the perfection of the cooking, we will deliver a time that brings out the children's small "I did it!" moments.

Representative's Comment
Summer vacation is a time when many memories are made for children.
However, I believe these memories are not only made during special outings but also in everyday moments, such as washing hands with dad, making onigiri, or stirring a pot.
In this event, we prioritize enjoying time together as a parent and child over the perfection of the cooking.
"Dad, let's do it again!"
I would be happy if this could be a two-hour experience where such words are spoken.
