Hankyu Hanshin Properties Corporation announces that its new headquarters building currently under construction in Kita-ku, Osaka (under the provisional name "(Tentative) Higashi-Hankyu Building Reconstruction Project※") with completion targeted for December 2027, and its Tokyo office in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, have simultaneously achieved the "WELL v2" (Preliminary Certification)—an international spatial evaluation system for buildings focused on human health and well-being. This marks the first time in Japan that two offices of the same company have received this certification simultaneously.

WELL Certification is one of the building certifications offered by IWBI (International WELL Building Institute), a U.S.-based nonprofit organization specializing in standards for healthy buildings, organizations, and communities. Unlike conventional building certifications that focus solely on environmental performance, WELL evaluates spaces based on their impact on occupants' health and comfort. WELL v2, introduced in September 2020 as the latest version of the WELL Certification, assesses buildings across ten categories: "Air," "Water," "Nourishment," "Light," "Movement," "Thermal Comfort," "Sound," "Materials," "Mind," and "Community." The Preliminary Certification awarded to our offices evaluates whether the design and planning stages prior to completion are expected to meet the final certification standards, based on architectural documentation and design plans.
Under the "Sustainability Declaration" established in 2020 by the Hankyu Hanshin Holdings Group, our company has set the goal of supporting "each individual's success" through improved workplace environments. This preliminary certification recognizes our comprehensive efforts—not only in office equipment and facilities but also in human resources policies and employee benefits that support physical and mental well-being—confirming that we have established an environment conducive to enhancing employee wellness.
Going forward, we aim to achieve the highest Platinum level of WELL v2 certification following on-site performance verification after office operations commence. Furthermore, we intend to apply the knowledge and insights gained from this certification across our entire real estate business. By creating comfortable office spaces where every employee can thrive, we aim to foster creativity and innovation, thereby strengthening our efforts to solve diverse social challenges and contribute to building a sustainable society.

About Hankyu Hanshin Properties' Offices that Achieved WELL v2 (Preliminary Certification)
Our primary objective in pursuing WELL v2 certification is to provide a workplace environment that enhances individual employee productivity and fosters creativity. As a real estate developer, we also aim to gain firsthand experience and expertise in cutting-edge office environments to strengthen our sales and proposal capabilities for future office development projects.
◆ Key Evaluation Highlights
(Office Environment)
We have implemented ventilation systems that exceed international indoor air quality standards by at least 1.3 times, lighting fixtures that minimize imperceptible flickering known to cause eye strain and migraines, and adjustable office furniture that can be customized to individual body types and eye levels. Additionally, biophilic design principles are applied throughout the floors, with abundant indoor plants creating relaxing spaces where employees can comfortably work, eat, and socialize.
(Human Resources Initiatives)
We are actively enhancing HR systems and employee benefits to support mental and physical well-being, including cross-departmental communication events, health promotion programs encouraging walking and smoking cessation, provision of nutritionally balanced and health-conscious meal services, and access to health consultation services.
◆ Relocation to New Headquarters ((Tentative) Higashi-Hankyu Building Reconstruction Project)
We plan to relocate our headquarters from the current Hankyu Terminal Building to a newly constructed 10-story above-ground, 1-story below-ground office building in Kita-ku, Osaka, jointly developed with Hankyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd., with relocation scheduled for December 2027 or later.
◆ Consolidation of Tokyo Office
We have consolidated our previously dispersed Greater Tokyo area offices into two floors within the Tokyo Takarazuka Building. Following extensive interior renovations to enhance functionality, the newly integrated office has commenced operations as of today.
