Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to share dreams. This press release is the dream of "Hattori Paper Co., Ltd."

Hattori Paper Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture) aims to realize a "society where daily cleaning actions lead to the conservation of the marine environment" as a small step towards global warming countermeasures.

◆Background Our daily domestic wastewater, especially from kitchens, contains a lot of oil. Oil that cannot be treated by sewage flows into the sea, and its accumulation becomes one of the factors that burden the marine ecosystem.

In the sea (especially in coastal areas), there are "marine forests" (seaweed beds) where wakame and kelp grow in colonies. These play an important role in absorbing and fixing CO2 through photosynthesis. However, turbidity of seawater and deterioration of water quality hinder this photosynthetic activity.

◆Hattori Paper's Initiatives For many years, Hattori Paper has been developing cleaning sheets that minimize the use of synthetic surfactants, preservatives, and fungicides, considering the health of people and the planet. We have also been developing products that can wipe and absorb oil stains to prevent them from flowing into the sea.
