Sunday Morning Factory Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative Director: Masato Nakamura), which is committed to solving child labor issues in Bangladesh and operates the organic cotton baby and children's clothing and baby gift brand "Haruulala organic," will begin a service collaboration with Kiyasuku Co., Ltd. (Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Teppei Maeda), which supports clothing alteration services and inclusive clothing manufacturing and after-sales services for apparel brands.

Through this initiative, children who experience difficulty putting on and taking off ready-made clothes, and their families, will be able to choose Haruulala items as "clothes they want to wear," with alterations in mind.

We want to create a culture where the choice to "never give up on the clothes you want to wear" is supported by society as a whole, rather than being an individual burden.

As a first step, Haruulala and Kiyasuku will jointly cover 50% of the alteration costs.

We hope that this joint project will enable as many people as possible to lead fulfilling lives.

■ Service Overview and Mechanism

All products eligible for alteration

Not limited to specific products, all Haruulala items are eligible.

Application of Haruulala special price

Haruulala and Kiyasuku jointly cover 50% of the alteration fee, offering a more accessible price.

Individual consultation with specialist staff

Kiyasuku's specialist staff will propose optimal customizations tailored to your child's condition.

■ Alteration Examples

Alteration for gastrostomy tube access

A slit was made in a convenient location on the tank top so that the abdomen does not need to be exposed every time a tube is inserted. This supports smooth and comfortable feeding, preventing the tube from bending or being compressed.

Alteration to full-opening pants

For those with leg difficulties, pulling pants up and down can put a strain on the body and lead to unexpected injuries. Both sides are fully opened with Velcro and snap buttons, making it easy to change clothes even while lying down.

Alteration to front-opening T-shirt for easy dressing

For those with difficulty raising their arms or with weak strength, T-shirts that are pulled over the head can put a strain on the body each time they are put on or taken off, leading to pain when putting arms through sleeves or awkward postures. By making the front fully open, it is designed for easy dressing without strain.

It is estimated that at least 7.7 million people* in Japan give up on "clothes they want to wear" for various reasons such as disability, illness, or aging.
Haruulala organic only offers baby and children's clothing and cannot cover all categories. Also, clothing preferences vary from person to person. That is why our goal is for "Kiyasuku buttons" to be introduced into all apparel brands, creating a society where no one has to give up on the clothes they want to wear. As a first step, we will continue to improve our services to set a good precedent and create a trend for other brands to follow.

Comment from Masato Nakamura, Representative Director of Sunday Morning Factory Co., Ltd.
"Wearing the clothes you want to wear" - I am ashamed to admit that I only realized there are people for whom this is not possible after my son's hospitalization.

Just wearing your favorite clothes can make you feel happy. It gives you strength.

It's just clothes, but it's also more than just clothes. We don't want children who want to wear our clothes to give up on that feeling. With this in mind, we decided to partner with Kiyasuku.

What one company can do is limited, but I hope this activity will be a catalyst for many more brands to join and expand the choices available. I hope this can be the first step.

Comment from Teppei Maeda, Representative of Kiyasuku

I am deeply grateful to Haruulala organic for being the first to embark on this initiative.

Their stance of wanting to deliver Haruulala organic clothes to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities or illnesses who have difficulty dressing, felt very sincere and essential.

For future apparel brands, it will be increasingly important not just to proclaim "we want to reach more people," but, like Haruulala organic, to re-examine who they are actually reaching and who they are not yet reaching, and to take action.

I hope this partnership will be one of the triggers for such movements to spread throughout the apparel industry.

■ About Haruulala

Haruulala organic is a brand that offers baby and children's clothing and baby gifts made from organic cotton. We pursue materials that are gentle on baby's skin and cute designs, and we create products with environmental considerations.

Established in 2017 to eliminate child labor in Bangladesh, we built our own apparel factory locally and provide stable employment to parents from impoverished families, thereby creating an environment where children do not have to work. In addition to using organic cotton, we also strive to minimize environmental impact through production methods such as switching our factory to solar power generation and carbon capture through afforestation.
