ITEC Hankyu Hanshin Corporation (Headquarters: Osaka City, Fukushima Ward, President: Yoshinobu Mizumoto, hereinafter "ITEC Hankyu Hanshin") will launch the new "Online Reception Function for Investigation-Related Inquiry Forms" (hereinafter "this function") on July 1, 2026 (Wed) within the "Kobe City Security Camera Management System" (hereinafter "this system") operated by Kobe City. This function aims to support swift investigations in the event of major incidents or accidents.
Background
Kobe City has installed approximately 4,200 security cameras throughout the city to promote a safe and secure community. These cameras are centrally managed using this system, which was developed by ITEC Hankyu Hanshin. The system already operates a "Police Cooperation Function" that allows for online procedures related to requests for security camera footage from the Hyogo Prefectural Police (hereinafter "Prefectural Police").
However, providing security camera footage requires separate procedures for investigation-related inquiry forms based on the Code of Criminal Procedure (submission from the Prefectural Police to Kobe City, followed by confirmation and approval by Kobe City). This involves administrative tasks such as sending and receiving inquiry forms via FAX, transporting and storing original documents, and confirming reception. These tasks became an issue for operational efficiency, especially during major incidents or accidents where rapid initial response is crucial and a large number of inquiries can concentrate in a short period.
Furthermore, Kobe City plans to expand its security camera installation to approximately 5,500 units by the end of fiscal year 2026, necessitating the establishment of a faster and more efficient cooperation system with the Prefectural Police.
Overview of This Function
This function, in addition to the existing "Police Cooperation Function," will digitize the procedures for investigation-related inquiry forms, allowing all procedures for providing security camera footage to be completed within this system.
Effects of Introducing This Function
- Improved operational efficiency through the reduction of administrative tasks related to investigation-related inquiry forms.
- Shortened lead time for providing security camera footage.
- Support for swift investigations in the event of major incidents or accidents.
- Strengthened cooperation system with the Prefectural Police, anticipating the expansion of security camera installations in Kobe City.
ITEC Hankyu Hanshin will continue to support the expansion of functions for Kobe City's security camera system and contribute to the creation of a safe and secure community.
