Moving from 'Learning' to 'Taking Action Together' for the SDGs: Unveiling the New 'Yume-Machi Action' Wrapped Train and Launching the 'Yume-Machi Action Squad' Event
Hankyu Hanshin Holdings launches the new 'Yume-Machi Action' wrapped train to promote SDGs and community engagement.
Hankyu Hanshin Holdings is advancing the 'Hankyu Hanshin Future Yume-Machi Project' (hereinafter 'Yume-Machi Project') with the goal of realizing 'communities where people want to live for generations to come' in the areas we serve, primarily along the Hankyu and Hanshin lines. On Saturday, April 18, we will unveil the 'Yume-Machi Action' train, a new wrapped train replacing the 'SDGs Train,' and host a participatory event called the 'Yume-Machi Action Squad,' where people of all generations can think together about the future of our communities.
The 'Yume-Machi Action' train features new characters themed around 'taking action together,' joining the existing characters that have led regional social contribution activities on the 'SDGs Train.' The new characters are inspired by a 'clover,' symbolizing environmental development, and a 'heart,' symbolizing the nurturing of the next generation. They represent the idea of experiencing diverse social contribution activities with a lighthearted, 'that looks fun' or 'I might be interested' mindset. The train's exterior design expresses the vitality and excitement of people participating in various initiatives to realize 'communities where people want to live,' while posters inside the train introduce collaborative efforts with companies, civic groups, and local governments.
The 'Yume-Machi Action Squad' event on April 18 will be held inside the 'Yume-Machi Action' train, which will be stationed at Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station. This event allows participants of all ages to engage in social contribution activities in a fun way, in collaboration with civic groups supported by the 'Hankyu Hanshin Future Yume-Machi Fund.' Programs include learning about marine environmental conservation, understanding the challenges faced by children with invisible disabilities, and learning about resource circulation. Through this event, we hope to provide an opportunity not just to 'learn,' but to 'experience' and realize that taking action, even in small ways, contributes to the community.
While we have promoted the SDGs through initiatives like the 'SDGs Train,' we now aim to move beyond awareness to foster concrete actions. By enhancing participatory events and workshops, we hope to create a cycle of learning and action, leading to more sustainable and tangible changes.
