Hakuhodo DY Holdings Inc. announced that its group-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets have been certified by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) on April 28, 2026. The targets were assessed as science-based and aligned with the levels required by the Paris Agreement.

The SBTi is an international collaborative initiative operated by CDP, the UN Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It verifies and certifies whether corporate GHG emission reduction targets are consistent with the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

The Hakuhodo DY Group formulated its "Sustainability Policy" and "Environmental Policy" in 2024. To achieve carbon neutrality by fiscal 2050, the group has set interim GHG emission reduction targets and is advancing various initiatives. These targets have now been recognized as science-based, leading to this SBT certification.
