Hacobu Inc. announces that Nestlé Japan Ltd. (hereinafter, "Nestlé Japan") will gradually establish a system for direct information sharing with approximately 7,000 contract truck drivers, utilizing the dispatch order and management service "MOVO Vista" and the truck driver support app "MOVO Driver."

Nestlé Japan will initially focus on real-time tracking of waiting times and work hours, and plans to sequentially adopt the real-time location sharing function that Hacobu will provide from the end of August 2026. Through initiatives led by shippers to advance information sharing with drivers, both companies aim to build a sustainable logistics network.

Background of Implementation: Structural Challenges Where "The Reality of Contract Drivers is Invisible" to Shippers

Visualization and Efficiency Across the Entire Supply Chain Now Required

In the logistics sector, driver shortages and long working hours are becoming increasingly severe. A major factor contributing to drivers' long working hours is the extended waiting time and loading/unloading time at delivery and pickup locations.

Against this backdrop, the "Revised Logistics Efficiency Act," which fully came into effect in April 2026, now requires both shippers and consignees to grasp and reduce waiting times and cargo handling times. To ensure the sustainability of logistics, a comprehensive approach across the entire supply chain is essential.

Operational Status of Contract Drivers Difficult for Shippers to See

On the other hand, in the field of truck transportation, shippers form a transportation network by collaborating with multiple transport operators and partner companies, and the drivers actually performing the transportation belong to a wide range of entities. Shippers have had limited means to directly grasp on-site realities such as when drivers arrive, how long they wait, and when they depart, and collecting the necessary data for improvement and providing information to drivers has remained difficult.

Utilizing IT for Shippers to Grasp On-Site Driver Information Themselves

Nestlé Japan has established a large-scale distribution network involving approximately 20,000 shipments annually and about 7,000 contract drivers to deliver products such as coffee to logistics centers of wholesalers and retailers nationwide.

In response to the demand for improved logistics efficiency across the entire supply chain, Nestlé Japan decided to establish a direct information sharing system with contract drivers by utilizing the dispatch order and management service "MOVO Vista" and the truck driver support app "MOVO Driver." "MOVO Vista" is characterized by its ability to link with "MOVO Driver," a truck driver support app with over 210,000 downloads (as of June 2026), enabling shippers and primary logistics providers (primary providers) to share job details with contract drivers and obtain performance data.

It should be noted that command and control for delivery operations will continue to be handled by the primary provider, and this initiative aims to improve information sharing and data exchange between shippers and drivers.

By establishing a system that allows shippers to grasp on-site driver information in real-time, Nestlé Japan aims to achieve both a reduction in waiting times and an improvement in logistics quality, thereby realizing a sustainable logistics network.

Hacobu's Initiative: Directly Connecting Shippers and Drivers for Real-Time On-Site Visualization

The utilization of "MOVO Vista" and "MOVO Driver" will proceed in two stages:

1. Real-time Tracking of Waiting Times and Work Hours (Trial Operation from June 2026)

Drivers will record their arrival, departure, and waiting times at shipping and delivery locations via the smartphone app "MOVO Driver." Nestlé Japan can view this information in real-time on the dispatch order and management service "MOVO Vista." As of June 2026, trial operations have begun with one major partner company and some drivers, and the rollout to approximately 7,000 contract drivers involved in about 20,000 shipments annually is planned by mid-October 2026. Based on the accumulated data, the reality of waiting times at each logistics hub will be visualized, leading to improvement activities aimed at reduction.

2. Location Information Sharing (Scheduled for sequential provision from the end of August 2026)

From the end of August 2026, a driver location sharing function will be added to "MOVO Vista." This will enable Nestlé Japan and primary providers to track drivers' current locations in real-time, allowing for swift rerouting instructions and safety checks by primary providers in emergencies such as disasters. Furthermore, by the end of October of the same year, the aim is to provide a function that automatically detects signs of delay based on the estimated arrival time calculated from the driver's current location and issues alerts. Through these functions, the goal is to achieve both an environment where drivers can work safely and securely, and improved operational efficiency for the entire operation.

Future Outlook

Based on the data accumulated through this initiative, discussions for improvements across the entire supply chain, including consignees, will be pursued. Hacobu will continue to support the creation of systems that connect shippers and drivers, contributing to the establishment of a sustainable logistics network.

Comments from Nestlé Japan Ltd.

Nestlé Japan Ltd. Supply Chain Management Division, Logistics Department Lead, Logistics Project, Mr. Haruo Sakaguchi

Nestlé Japan is committed to building a sustainable logistics network based on the concept of CSV (Creating Shared Value), which creates value for both society and the company through business activities, in line with its purpose of "enhancing the quality of life for all people now and for future generations through the power of food and drinks." In particular, "waiting time," one of the causes of long working hours for truck drivers, is a critical issue that Nestlé Japan, as a shipper, must address. On the other hand, in a transportation network involving multiple transport operators and contractors, it is not easy to grasp the operational status of the field and link it to improvements. We have determined that the integration of "MOVO Vista" and "MOVO Driver" will enable visualization of the entire delivery process, including driver operations, and allow for data collection and information sharing in a manageable way. We will collaborate with Hacobu to contribute to creating an environment where drivers can work with peace of mind and to realize sustainable logistics.
