'Odyssey' is a fantasy action film based on the heroic epic poem by the ancient Greek poet Homer. The film stars Matt Damon as the protagonist Odysseus, alongside a cast of international actors including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Robert Pattinson.
The story is set after the end of the "Trojan War," known for the "Trojan Horse." Odysseus, the hero and king of "Ithaca," embarks on his journey home to his family after approximately 10 years of war. However, his journey home was far from peaceful.
Odysseus, having incurred the wrath of the gods, faces relentless trials, including raging seas, encounters with the one-eyed giant Cyclops, and the sorceress Circe. The journey took another 10 years to complete. Nolan dynamically depicts this grand voyage.
'Odyssey,' often hailed as the greatest masterpiece of ancient Greece, features gods who have been incorporated into various works of art, making them familiar to modern audiences. However, few people have actually experienced the myths themselves that form the roots of these stories.
Furthermore, Christopher Nolan's works are known for their complex and dense narrative structures, such as temporal reversals and multi-layered compositions. While they are captivating once understood, it is also true that some find his films "difficult to grasp."
Prepare with a manga to grasp the key points before the release!
