A 19-Year Journey Comes to an End! 'A Certain Magical Index Side Story: A Certain Scientific Railgun' Concludes in the May 2026 Issue of Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh!!

The long-running, popular manga series 'A Certain Magical Index Side Story: A Certain Scientific Railgun' will finally reach its conclusion in the 'Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh May 2026 Issue,' set to be released by KADOKAWA Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Tsuyoshi Natsuno) on Friday, March 27, 2026.

To commemorate this, the issue features special content, including messages from original author Kazuma Kamachi and character designer Kiyotaka Haimura, as well as tribute illustrations from artists working on other manga in the 'A Certain' series.

This work is a spin-off comic derived from the Dengeki Bunko light novel series 'A Certain Magical Index.' Set in 'Academy City,' where psychic development takes place, it depicts the slightly unusual daily lives of four girls, centered on the heroine, Mikoto Misaka. The announcement of a fourth season of the TV anime in February 2025 also generated significant buzz.

To celebrate the conclusion, the 'Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh May 2026 Issue' includes special articles, featuring comments from original author Kazuma Kamachi and character designer Kiyotaka Haimura.

Additionally, tribute illustrations have been contributed by artists from other 'A Certain' series manga: Chuya Kogino, Arata Yamaji, Yasuhito Nogi, and strelka.

We have also received heartfelt comments from the main cast of the 'A Certain Scientific Railgun' TV anime, including Rina Sato (the voice of protagonist Mikoto Misaka), Satomi Arai, Aki Toyosaki, and Kanae Ito.

Furthermore, a passionate message has been provided by Satoshi Yaginuma of fripSide, who has performed the theme songs for the TV anime series throughout its history.

To commemorate the finale, free marathon broadcasts of the first and second seasons of the TV anime have been scheduled on ABEMA, and a rebroadcast of the entire anime series has been confirmed on AT-X.
