Closing the curtain on approximately 19 years of history! "A Certain Scientific Railgun," a spin-off of "A Certain Magical Index," will conclude with the May 2026 issue of "Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh"!!

The highly popular serialized comic "A Certain Magical Index Gaiden: A Certain Scientific Railgun" will finally reach its conclusion in the "Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh May 2026 Issue," set to be released by KADOKAWA Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Takeshi Natsuno) on Friday, March 27, 2026.

To commemorate this, the magazine will feature special projects, including special comments from original author Kazuma Kamachi and character designer Kiyotaka Haimura, as well as contributed illustrations from creators responsible for other "A Certain" series comics.

This work is a spin-off comic derived from Dengeki Bunko's "A Certain Magical Index." Set in "Academy City," where psychic abilities are developed, it depicts the slightly unusual daily lives of four girls, centered around the heroine Mikoto Misaka. The production of a fourth season of the TV anime was also decided in February 2025, generating significant buzz.

To commemorate the conclusion of the series, the "Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh May 2026 Issue" will feature a special article, including special comments from original author Kazuma Kamachi and character designer Kiyotaka Haimura.

Additionally, contributed illustrations have arrived from Chuuya Kogino, Shin Yamaji, Yasuhito Nogi, and strelka, who are responsible for the artwork in other "A Certain" series comics.

Furthermore, heartfelt comments have been received from the main cast members, including Rina Satoh, who voices the protagonist Mikoto Misaka in the TV anime "A Certain Scientific Railgun," as well as Satomi Arai, Aki Toyosaki, and Kanae Itō.

Moreover, a passionate message has been received from Satoshi Yaginuma of fripSide, who has produced the theme songs for the TV anime throughout its history.

Please enjoy the story of the girls who have lived out their slightly unusual daily lives in "Academy City" until the very end.

To commemorate the conclusion, free marathon broadcasts of TV anime seasons 1 and 2 on ABEMA, and reruns of all anime series on AT-X have also been decided. This is a chance to look back at Mikoto Misaka and her friends' story from the beginning. Please enjoy them along with the comic.
