National Street Dance Contest "D-SHOCK" Announces Kanto Region's First Preliminary Round Results After 79 Dancers from 39 Groups Competed in Tokyo

Chord Prise Inc. held the second Kanto first preliminary round of its national street dance contest, D-SHOCK 2026-2027 ROUND, in Tokyo on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

As the first offline (with a live audience) qualifier of the season, the PRIME, OPEN, and Online categories were held concurrently. A total of 39 groups, comprising 79 dancers in teams and solo acts, participated in a fierce battle for a seed spot in the final tournament.

In the FINAL, competitors will vie for a total prize pool of ¥500,000. Additionally, the overall PRIME winner will receive supplementary prizes to support their career, such as the production of a documentary film and features in media interviews.

▶ What is D-SHOCK?

D-SHOCK is a national street dance contest that began in 2016. It features four age divisions: U-10 (elementary school 4th grade & under), U-12 (6th grade & under), U-15 (middle school), and OVER (high school & up), with qualifiers held in 10 areas across Japan. Its hybrid format of offline and online qualifiers ensures that dancers nationwide can compete regardless of location. This season, the contest has evolved to include three skill categories, from 'BASE' for beginners to 'PRIME' for the top tier, allowing dancers of all levels to shine on a suitable stage.

▶ Judge Profiles

- MIHOZONESS: Started with HIPHOP at 15 and now works as an instructor after training in Japan and abroad. Past work includes being a tour dancer and choreographer for Sandaime J Soul Brothers. - Shizuka Shindo: An artist with a diverse style centered on JAZZ dance. She is active in various fields, including appearances in NHK's Kouhaku Uta Gassen and BUMP OF CHICKEN's music videos.
