Thank you always for your continued support of the SeaHorses Mikawa.
On Wednesday, June 10, the SeaHorses Mikawa visited Sakurai Elementary School in Anjo City, where #27 player Kosuke Ishii conducted a school visit program for approximately 150 sixth-grade students.
The visit featured a motivational talk centered on the theme of "dreams," followed by a basketball exchange session.
During the talk, Ishii shared personal experiences and encouraged the children by saying, "It's okay if you have more than one dream," and "What's important is to speak about your dreams without feeling embarrassed."
He added, "When you talk about your dreams, people around you may start supporting you or even offer you opportunities. I hope you all can confidently share your dreams with others." The students listened intently with serious expressions.
In the Q&A session, hands shot up one after another with questions such as, "Why did you decide to become a professional basketball player?" and "Do you get nervous before games?" The children clearly enjoyed their interaction with Ishii.
During the physical education class, a survival-style free-throw challenge was held, with over 150 students participating. Three students who remained undefeated through multiple rounds faced off against Ishii in an intense showdown, thrilling the audience and creating a lively atmosphere.
In the 5-on-5 game, while Ishii applied aggressive front-line pressure, the students bravely challenged him. Many showed great teamwork by encouraging each other and confidently going head-to-head with the professional player.
Throughout the free-throw contest and games, the gymnasium echoed with enthusiastic cheers from the children, maintaining a high-energy and passionate atmosphere from start to finish.
The visit concluded on a warm and joyful note, with Ishii and the students exchanging words of encouragement and sharing smiles.
Moving forward, through the SeaHorses Mikawa Sustainability Project "Be With," we will continue to promote the values we cherish—"town-building," "people-building," and "team-building"—and advance initiatives that contribute to regional revitalization.
