【SeaHorses Mikawa】314.4kg of food items for the community: Report on the food drive held in collaboration with Nippon Life Insurance to benefit children's cafeterias and households in need

During the game against the Toyama Grouses held at Sky Hall Toyota on Sunday, March 8, we conducted a "B.LEAGUE Hope x Nippon Life Insurance: Energizing the Community! Basketball ACTION" food drive in collaboration with the Nippon Life Insurance Kariya Branch, collecting 314.4kg of food items.

The food items provided by everyone will be donated to children's cafeterias and families in need through "Food Bank Aichi" and the "Nishimikawa Food Bank Liaison Council," both of which are active primarily in Aichi Prefecture.

We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation with the SeaHorses Mikawa sustainability project, "Be With."

### What is a Food Drive? A food drive is an activity that collects surplus food from households to donate to local organizations supporting those in need, children's cafeterias, welfare facilities, and others who require food assistance.

These initiatives are being carried out across the country as a measure to address poverty and reduce food loss.

Food loss: Food that is still edible but is thrown away.

### Food Banks **Nishimikawa Food Bank Liaison Council** We, the General Incorporated Association Nishimikawa Food Bank Liaison Council, engage in activities to deliver food and daily necessities donated and supported by companies and individual supporters to those in need, including single-parent families, young children, those in financial distress, disaster victims, and foreign residents.

Furthermore, as part of our support for revitalizing the Nishimikawa regional community, we aim to be rooted in the region by providing support for problem-solving, such as creating places for children to gather, offering learning support, and addressing social issues including the social reintegration of those unable to participate in society due to school non-attendance or various other factors.

**Food Bank Aichi** We connect food and daily necessities donated by companies and individuals to support organizations that can distribute them to those in need. By expanding the connections between companies and individuals who wish to support us and the organizations that assist those in need, we aim to create a "society where no one is left behind."

### "Be With" SeaHorses Mikawa Sustainability Project **Passing the ball from the court to the town and into the future.**

Starting with the 2022-23 season, SeaHorses Mikawa launched an SDGs project named "Be With." To contribute to the achievement of the "SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)," which are common global goals, we will promote various initiatives in addition to the social contribution activities we have conducted to date.
