About the Former Kitano Elementary School
The school building, constructed in 1931, features a modern design typical of Kobe, with wooden staircases and arched ceilings in the corridors.
Located in the Kitano Ijinkan district, it was attended by children of foreign residents. However, due to a decrease in student numbers and damage to parts of the building from the Great Hanshin Earthquake, it was merged with an adjacent elementary school and closed in 1996.
