GEEK PICTURES Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tamotsu Osano) announced that it will host the 'GEEK PICTURES Pop-up Gallery' for two days only, on Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25, at SENS Restaurant Cannes in Cannes, France, the host city of the world's largest advertising festival, Cannes Lions.

The gallery will bring together a wide range of creative works, including video productions, art, and music, created by GEEK PICTURES, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year.

In recent years, the company has expanded its business beyond traditional video production by leveraging 'Japan' as its core strength. This includes an immersive art exhibition themed around the works of Ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, and digital services that enable large-scale filming in iconic locations like Shibuya and Ginza.

This event will serve as a showcase to enjoy unique creative works and service cases, as well as to broadcast the current capabilities of GEEK PICTURES to the world.

Additionally, it can be enjoyed as a venue for new encounters and networking with creators and marketers gathering from all over the world during the Cannes Lions period. Please take this opportunity to visit.

◼️ Pop-up Gallery Content

1. Exhibition | Video Works & Contemporary AI Japanese Style Art

In addition to video works previously produced by GEEK PICTURES, the main content will feature original AI Japanese style art that modernizes characters from Japanese paintings using generative AI. By intentionally incorporating modern elements into the worldview of Japanese paintings—such as the Wind God and Thunder God holding a camera like a film crew, a Popen-blowing girl blowing bubble gum, and the moneylender Ishibe Kinkichi recording in a music studio—the resulting incongruity is humorously expressed. This exhibition will be exclusive to the gallery, so do not miss it.

Originals: Tawaraya Sotatsu 'Wind God and Thunder God Screens', Kitagawa Utamaro 'Ten Physiognomic Types of Women: A Girl Blowing a Popen', Toshusai Sharaku 'The Actor Arashi Ryuzo II as the Moneylender Ishibe Kinkichi'.

Furthermore, there will be a special screening of the immersive art exhibition 'HOKUSAI : ANOTHER STORY in TOKYO', co-hosted by the company, which attracted over 100,000 visitors. You can enjoy the Edo Ukiyo depicted by Katsushika Hokusai in immersive video. It is an exhibition area where you can fully experience the unique worldview of 'Japan', so please look forward to it.
