[Cranium] Thai GL Comic Adaptation to be Distributed Early on Renta! Crowdfunding Also Starts 3/26

Frontier Works Inc. (President: Masahide Tsuji, Headquarters: Itabashi-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "Frontier Works") and DREAM EXPRESS [DEX] CO., LTD. (hereinafter "DEX") have decided to begin early distribution of the comic adaptation of the Thai original GL novel "Cranium" (Kureniamu) on the e-book service "Renta!" (Papyless Co., Ltd.) starting Friday, May 1, 2026.

This work is one of the representative popular titles in "Thai GL (a genre depicting romance between women)", which has been gaining attention mainly in Asia in recent years. The comicization is handled by GL author Ruri Kiyotsuki, who is supported in both Thailand and Japan. It has received a great response from overseas fans since its announcement and is attracting attention across borders.

Furthermore, as a project to commemorate this comicization, crowdfunding will begin on "Soreosu" from 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

This project aims to expand recognition of the genre "Thai GL" and the work "Cranium Kurainiamu", and to realize the production of a printed version of the comic (limited production as a crowdfunding reward).

We aim to deliver the appeal of the highly acclaimed "Thai GL" to Japanese readers and widely promote the work "Cranium Kurainiamu". In this crowdfunding campaign, in addition to the production of a print version (limited to this crowdfunding), we offer rewards such as exclusive goods for supporters and the listing of supporter names in the credits.

Furthermore, a promotion for "Cranium Kurainiamu" will be held at the "Bangkok International Book Fair" in Bangkok, Thailand, from Thursday, March 26, to Sunday, April 5, 2026. In addition to a special booth exhibition and stage appearances, free distribution benefits will be available for visitors.

[Cranium Kurainiamu Synopsis]

A small plane crashed in the rural area of central Thailand, killing all 15 passengers and crew. Dr. Bua, a young doctor, is dispatched to the scene to identify the bodies. There, she reunites with her former colleague, Dr. Pinyar, with whom she had a falling out. A forensic investigation begins amidst a tense atmosphere. One day, "another skull" is discovered that does not match any of the accident victims.

This discovery marks the beginning of an unsettling mystery lurking behind the crash. The two, despite their animosity, pursue the truth and eventually confront their pasts – will the bones reveal the truth of the accident, or their own destinies?
