Born in Okinawa Prefecture in 1978. Resides in Tokyo. Graduated from Tokyo Jikei University School of Medicine, certified by the Japan Internal Medicine Society. In 2011, won the 4th Shimada Soji Bara no Machi Fukuyama Mystery Literature Newcomer Award for "Raison d'être." Debuted as an author in 2012 with the same work retitled "Dare ga Tame no Yaiba" (re-released as "Raison d'être" in 2019). In 2015, "Kamen Byoto" won the Keibundo Bunko Grand Prize. Nominated for the Booksellers Award five times for "Kuzureru Nou wo Dakishimete," "Hitotsumugi no Te," "Mugen no Ai," "Garusu no Tou no Satsujin," and "Houkago Mystery Club 1: Kingyo no Oyogu Pool Jiken." Author of numerous works including the "Amakusa Takawo" series of authentic medical mysteries, as well as "Yasashii Shinigami no Kaikata," "Kikai Jikake no Taiyou," and "Tonari no Nurse Aid."
